Operating in the field of railway infrastructure, CO.RAC.FER. is engaged in the construction, renovation, and maintenance of railway lines and connections, both on behalf of RFI and public and private entities. The company, in particular, is able to provide the following types of services:

Construction of railway lines and connections


Projects executed according to the latest regulations and provisions of RFI, as well as complementary works within industrial plants (both private and public) and port areas, connected to the FS Station up to the production site.

Maintenance of railway lines and connections


Inspection, tightening of connection parts, lubrication of junction and sliding parts (moving parts of switches, bearings); inspection of operating boxes and related linkage with lubrication, checking rail expansion gaps as well as track and switch gauge with possible rectification.

CO.RAC.FER. also carries out industrial construction works with special reference to special foundations and crane runway tracks, gantry cranes, asphalt road works, drainage works for yard water, reinforced concrete structures such as bumpers, retaining walls, installation of railway scales, and much more.

Handling


CO.RAC.FER. offers consultancy, design, and feasibility study services in the field of handling, relying on specialised personnel and highly qualified external technicians.


We operate with great attention to environmental protection, further ensuring the services offered to our customers. We are active as a management body for handling railway wagons in commercial ports, industrial zones, and consortia.

  • Our service includes the following performances:

    • Collection of the railway wagons from the pick-up point and delivery of the same
    • Checking the material received and pre-classifying it, checking the cleanliness and condition of the wagons after checking their suitability for transit and reporting any anomalies to the competent F.S. personnel.
    • Composition and breakdown of train trains made up of full and/or empty wagons, including their selection and preparation
    • Movement of the trains from the pick-up and delivery tracks to the entrance sidings of the works of the connected companies
    • Visual check of the condition of the wagons and their bindings (if full) when they are handed over by the haulage contractors, with notification of any anomalies and/or faults
    • Formation of outgoing convoys, checking for any closures and/or seals on the wagons
    • Coordination of the service according to operational needs and priorities in agreement with the area managers of each connected company for the urgency of forwarding wagons
    • Collection of wagons from the point of pick-up and delivery

Material supply

CO.RAC.FER. deals with the supply of the following railway materials:


 

  • New rails 60 UNI, Burback, Decauville, and MRS types
  • Used rails RA 36, FS 46, 50/60 UNI
  • Simple, double, and English turnouts of various gauges and types, new and used, complete with normal and special armament material
  • Used and new wooden sleepers, injected with Rueping ecological system of 7°, 5°, 2° group, used and new capv sleepers, as well as used and new sleepers for turnouts
  • Minute armament material such as plates, spikes, fishplates, jaws, fishplate clips, CK1 keys, etc., for all types of rails
  • Normal operating boxes with square and hook linkage
  • Built-in operating boxes for turnouts in common level ground of our construction
  • End-of-line bumpers type F.S. and in reinforced concrete according to approved F.S. project, as well as buffers for cranes and gantry cranes.
